ReelIQ Development Update: Launch Is Getting Close

We wanted to share a quick update: ReelIQ is coming along great, and we're getting close to launch.

Over the past several months, we've been building what we believe is the most complete private fishing intelligence app for iPhone. Not a social network. Not a leaderboard. A real tool for anglers who want to fish smarter.

What's In the App

Here's a look at what we've been working on:

AI-Powered Catch Logging — Snap a photo of your catch and ReelIQ identifies the species using an on-device AI model that recognizes 639 species offline, estimates measurements, and logs 23+ data fields automatically. Weather, location, moon phase, and conditions are captured without you lifting a finger.

AR Fish Measurement — Point your camera at a fish, tap head and tail, and get an accurate length measurement using augmented reality. It auto-fills right into your catch log.

7-Day Fishing Forecast — A personalized forecast that scores each day 0 to 100 based on your own catch history, real weather data from the National Weather Service, and environmental factors. It's not generic — it's built from your data.

Solunar Calendar — Full moon phase tracking with major and minor feeding period calculations, a 24-hour activity timeline, and correlation stats showing how your catches align with lunar activity.

Interactive Map & Heatmap — Every catch gets a pin on your private map. Toggle a heatmap overlay to see your hotspots, filter by species, and tap any marker to see the full details.

AI-Powered Analytics — A pattern detection engine analyzes your entire catch history to surface your best times, weather conditions, baits, techniques, and locations per species. Plus, Apple Intelligence generates personalized tips on-device.

Home Screen Widgets & Live Activity — Track your season stats from your home screen, and follow active fishing trips in the Dynamic Island with real-time catch count and weather.

Privacy First

Everything in ReelIQ is private by default. Your data stays on your phone. AI runs on your device. Nothing leaves your phone unless you choose to share it. Your spots are yours.

What's Next

We're in the final stretch of development and testing. The goal is to have ReelIQ available on the App Store soon.
